What people actually run

Bitcoin Core plus Bitcoin Core: running a full node is the whole job: disk, prune, inbound peers, IBD time. Pay the box with BTC if you want, or USDT if you do not want the hosting bill to move with the coin you validate.

Playbook

From invoice to IBD
  1. Pruned: Plus. Archival or heavy dbcache: Pro / Max or Dedicated.
  2. Install from Bitcoin Core. Keep blocks on NVMe.
  3. Romania or Iceland are common. Amsterdam if peers are at EU IXes.

Limits

A node is allowed. Crime mixers and network attacks are not.
