Run LND or Core Lightning on a VPS with a stable IP. Pay the host with on-chain BTC, XMR or USDT — not Lightning.

What people actually run

Lightning Labs documentation and Core Lightning need a bitcoind (or an equivalent backend) and an IP that does not rotate. Do not send Lightning to the on-chain BTC invoice address.

  1. Business to start. Dedicated when channel state should not share a noisy neighbour.
  2. Follow Lightning Labs documentation or Core Lightning. Keep the backend on NVMe.
  3. Hosting bill: on-chain BTC, XMR or USDT.
